Try a stock exhaust here

Question:

My wife let me buy a 1982 Oldsmobile to fix up. We have torn it down and now we’re fixing it back up. We are putting a 350 cid in her and want to know what would be the best type of mufflers for it? Should we put in one or two mufflers?

Answer:

I’d put a stock exhaust system in the car. You don’t say what model it is but given that it’s an ’82 I suspect that means it had a single muffler.

As an aside, you remind us that there are many, many older cars out there that are reasonably priced and that we can get a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment from by restoring and driving besides the vintage Mustangs, Camaros, E-types, Packards and many other “more collectible” cars we typically see in magazines.
