Removing mildew from a vinyl top

I have a Lincoln Mark V with a light gray vinyl top that has developed black mildew. What can I use to remove the mildew? How can I best treat it to avoid a re-occurrence?
Answer:
Use a diluted bleach solution to clean off the black mold.
The bleach will discourage the mold from coming back if you eliminate every speck of it but if the car is normally kept in a very damp environment you will likely see more mold in the future no matter what you do.
