We’d like power steering on our anniversary

October 1, 2016 | By Staff

Question:

My husband and I are restoring my 1964 Comet Caliente convertible. In the process of moving it we discovered that the power steering control valve is leaking quite a bit. We would like to know where we can get it rebuilt or buy a new one. My husband had found an address in an issue of Auto Restorer a while back, but alas we are unable to find that particular issue. We are hoping to get the car back on the road for our 50th wedding anniversary in July 2017. Can you help?

Answer:

Rebuild kits are available from Auto Parts Warehouse for $42.57. You will need to specify the AC Delco 36-351650 power steering control valve kit. You can then rebuild the unit yourself, or have it done locally. You can reach them at:

Auto Parts Warehouse 16941 Keegan Ave. Carson, CA 90746 www.autopartswarehouse.com
