Eastwood Under Gone Undercoat Remover

Here is a product that makes you wonder where this stuff was back when you were heating and scraping all of that sticky, messy undercoating from the bottom of your classic ride.

If the undercoating on your vehicle can be imprinted with a fingernail, Eastwood Under Gone will soften that rubberized coating so that it can be scraped off. No more propane torch and heavy leather gloves required. Just spray on Under Gone and then scrape it off with a putty knife. But remember to check your undercoating before you buy this product because Eastwood says it’s “not for use on baked-on, epoxy or urethane undercoatings.” But if your undercoating passes the fingernail test, give it a try. You are going to really like the ease of removal with this product.

Eastwood Under Gone #31130Z is available in 17 oz. aerosol cans($11.99). I used four cans to clean the underside of a 1965 Mustang.

Also, Eastwood suggests the use of PRE Painting Prep to remove any remaining residue for a “paint ready” surface. That product is available in various sizes and in aerosol and non aerosol containers.
