The seat needs to go farther back

Question:

I have been looking for a fun car to drive in Florida. I like the Ford Model A because of its price, the car's automotive significance, and the fact that I owned a Model A roadster in the 1950s.

However, I recently found out that while I can still fit behind the wheel it is very tight and operating the pedals is simply not possible. On the other hand, moving the seat backward would solve my legroom problem.

But I also noted that on the phaeton I recently looked at, moving the seat toward the back of the car would require cutting and fabrication. Is there a plan for this available and/or experience that I can use to move the Model A's front seat backward?

Answer:

I could not locate plans for relocating your Model A seats rearward but have no doubt that you can accomplish this if you have the requisite skills and patience. You will need to do some cutting, fabricating and welding.

If you are not comfortable doing this yourself call Dave Walters at Walters Engineering ( ). He is not that far away from Vero Beach and would do an excellent job for you.
