Seeking a six-volt wireless battery disconnect

March 1, 2015 | By Jim Richardson

Question:

As my favorite “Battery Brain” is no longer made, I wonder whether your readers might know of another wireless battery disconnect. Another publication mentioned the availability of remote devices without listing brands or specifics.

My own limited research indicates Battery Brain is still available from Amazon and Summit Racing, but the manufacturer is no longer in business. The websites www.batterydrain.com and www.batterybrain.net were good at one time, but no longer respond. The only wireless alternative (12-volt only) seems to be one that is available from Ron Francis. But I would still like to find a six-volt wireless disconnect from a viable vendor.

Answer:

I don’t know of a vendor of WIFI six“\, volt wireless battery disconnects but it would be great to have such things, because many cars with six-volt batteries have them mounted under the floor, so you have to pull up the carpeting and take off an access panel to get to them. How about it Auto Restorer readers? Does anybody make such a thing? Maybe there is a business opportunity here. However, as Dennis says, Ron Francis Wiring sells a 12-volt version and you can reach them at: Ron Francis Wiring (aka Wire Works), https://www.ronfrancis.com/
