Another reason why vacuum wipers slow down

With regard to a previous question you addressed concerning speeding up vacuum windshield wipers, loss of vacuum can also be caused by worn camshaft lobes. This situation is more likely to occur with cast iron camshafts rather than the early steel ones.

If you can get by with just one wiper working, take the wiper arm off one side and then the other side will usually work enough to get you by.
